We have had the best experience here! Dr. Kirchmer has been wonderful with our family! She has been so thorough, kind and helpful with my 8 year old daughter’s glasses these past couple years and now my 6 year old son. The whole staff has always been so kind and warm with our family.

Dr. Kirchmer has done an excellent job of updating my prescription for progressive gas permeable contact lenses. When I was fitted with the first pair, she tested my vision and adjusted the prescription. When I came back to get the second pair tested, she discovered one eye was very dry and rescheduled me to come back after I'd applied eye drops so that my eyes would be fully lubricated. All these services were covered by the original fitting fee. I really appreciate her thoroughness!

Carrboro family vision is great!!! I had been being seen there a long time ago but then was seeing a corporate eye doctor for a few years because it was more convenient to where I was located at the time. I missed the personal touch of a non corporate model so I switched back to Carrboro Family Vision. Lovely office, buttoned up processes, nice staff, a personal touch, and you will get a very thorough exam. Much more thorough than I had been getting at the corporate eye place I had been visiting. They offered to go out of their way to research my insurance to see if there was coverage even though i thought probably not. I’ve never been offered that at the other place if been going. And the Chapel hill location is central to everything and very convenient. 5 stars all the way.

From the phone call to through the end of the visit I felt heard respected and truly helped. All my questions were answered and a care plan that made me feel confident was given. 100 percent recommend for anyone in the area… or not!

I switched from another local optometrist.Dr Kirchmer soon diagnosed a subtle but serious problem with my retina that may be affecting my vision. This was missed at another practice for years. Everyone in the office is very friendly and efficient. Appointment was on time and the reception area was clean and spacious. The assistants were very efficient and clearly took their job seriously. So glad I found this practice! All the good reviews are well deserved.

I want to thank Carrboro Family vision. I finally got answers for my eye issues. They were so informative and it is greatly appreciated I would also like to say the Chapel Hill office is more convenient for me.

Today, I developed a problem in one of my eyes which caused me so much discomfort that I realized I should try to get some professional help. I had recently become a patient at Carrboro Family Vision. Tanner picked up when I called and explained my situation. He told me he would call back after seeing what a doctor had to say. He did this and was able to squeeze me in as the last appointment of the day with Dr. Friel. Despite the fact that she had had a busy day, she patiently saw me, diagnosed and solved my problem. I could see again! Everyone was very kind and helpful and I felt lucky that this team of folks took care of me.

From the retinal exam to the thorough eye exam given by Dr. Barber, there was attentive and sincere care provided to my mother. She spoke highly of her experience after not having an eye exam for several years!
